WRANGLERS DEFENSIVE BACK DYWAN GRIFFIN EARNS IFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Defensive back Dywan Griffin delivered an all-time performance in the Wranglers latest victory against the New Mexico Chupacabras. Griffin nabbed not one, not two, but three interceptions against New Mexico. Dywan also turned two of these interceptions into pick-sixes, scoring two defensive touchdowns for the Wranglers. Wranglers' country was electrified by all three plays, especially by the two interception returns for touchdowns. The Wranglers defense surrounded Griffin with the defensive photoshoot celebration. Griffin also recorded two total tackles, one tackle for loss, and a pass broken up (PBU.)

He continues to prove to be a top defender on the Wranglers defensive unit. Griffin now has 5 total interceptions this season and has continuously made big plays for the Wranglers. Northern Arizona dominated the Chupacabras by a score of 71-33. With Griffin's defensive plays becoming an integral piece of the victory. The Wranglers improved to a 2-0 record under Interim Head Coach Larry Hendrix.

Griffin is the fourth Wranglers player to earn an IFL Player of the Week recognition. Defensive back Brendon Luper was selected previously for defense, Kicker Nestor "Manny" Higuera has been selected twice for special teams, and quarterback Anthony Garrett was also selected for the offensive side of the ball.

Northern Arizona will be closing their season with two road games, heading to Tucson this weekend to take on the Sugar Skulls.
