NAZ WRANGLERS NAME COACH JEFF HIGGINS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR FOR REMAINDER OF 2026 SEASON
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. — The Northern Arizona Wranglers announced today that Coach Jeff Higgins will take over as Offensive Coordinator for the remainder of the 2026 Indoor Football League season.
Coach Higgins, who joined the Wranglers staff ahead of the 2026 season as Special Teams Coordinator and Quarterbacks/Wide Receivers Coach, will assume offensive play-calling and coordination responsibilities as the team continues its push through the final stretch of the season.
"Coach "Higgs", as he's called, brings a championship mindset, a strong understanding of offensive football, and valuable experience developing quarterbacks and skill-position players," said Wranglers ownership. "We believe his leadership, energy, and attention to detail will provide stability and direction for our offense as we finish the 2026 season."
Higgins brings extensive coaching and playing experience across the Canadian Football League, arena football, collegiate football, and high school ranks. Most recently, he spent two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, culminating in a Grey Cup Championship in 2025. His coaching background includes leadership roles as a head coach, offensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach, and strength and conditioning coach.
Prior to his time in the CFL, Higgins served in multiple coaching roles with the Orlando Predators, including head coach in 2022. He has also coached quarterbacks and special teams in several elite postseason events. A veteran coach with 26 years of offensive experience, Higgins has twice served as an offensive coordinator in indoor/arena football, including during his tenure as the Predators' head coach in 2022. As a player, he starred at Ithaca College and went on to compete professionally in the IFL, AFL, and AF2, earning multiple honors during his playing career.
Higgins called plays for the first time as the Wranglers' offensive coordinator in last weekend's victory over the Tucson Sugar Skulls. He credited his players for their poise, execution, and clock management, which proved pivotal in securing the win.
"Anthony Garrett, Marlon Cook Jr., and Nolan Susel all made smart decisions to stay in bounds and force Tucson to use their timeouts," Higgins explained that the team's goal was to score as late as possible at the end of both the first half and the game.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to step into this role and help lead our offense for the remainder of the season," said Higgins. "Our focus will be on execution, consistency, and putting our players in the best position to succeed each week. I'm excited to continue working with this group and finish strong for our fans and the Northern Arizona community."
The Wranglers remain committed to competing at a high level, developing their roster, and representing Prescott Valley and Northern Arizona with pride throughout the remainder of the 2026 season.
