MIDSEASON SHAKEUP: WRANGLERS SIGN 2 QUARTERBACKS, 6 NEW PLAYERS INCLUDING 2023 RETURNER & AFL FIRST TEAM PLAYER
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. — The Northern Arizona Wranglers are thrilled to welcome six new players to the roster as they look to spark a second-half resurgence.
Two new quarterbacks are set to lead the Wranglers offense this Saturday night against the San Antonio Gunslingers. Northern Arizona welcomes quarterbacks Anthony Garrett and Demarcus "Deebo" Bryant ahead of a pivotal Western Conference matchup.
Anthony "Shotgun" Garrett joins the Wranglers after spending training camp and the start of the season with the Vegas Knight Hawks. Garrett, an IFL rookie, starred at Glenville State University, where he threw for more than 3,000 yards and 29 touchdowns in just 11 games during his senior season. Garrett brings dual-threat ability, athleticism, and a powerful arm to the Wranglers offense.
Demarcus "Deebo" Bryant joins the Wranglers after earning a call-up from a developmental league. Bryant most recently played quarterback for the Tomball Bobcats out of Houston, Texas. He was previously signed by the Sioux City Bandits of the National Arena League but departed during training camp following the birth of his son. Bryant also gained experience with the Space City Heat and brings dynamic playmaking ability both through the air and on the ground.
Former Wranglers wide receiver Andre Williams returns to Northern Arizona after previously playing with the team during the 2023 season. Williams is a veteran wide receiver and explosive kick returner known for his speed and elusiveness. During his previous stint with the Wranglers, he made an impact on both offense and special teams, including multiple kickoff returns for touchdowns. Since 2023, Williams has spent time with the Green Bay Blizzard and, most recently, the Iowa Barnstormers. In 2024, he led the league with a 29.1-yard kick return average while totaling 291 return yards and a touchdown in just five games.
The Wranglers also added a major defensive presence in defensive lineman Henry Kellogg III. During the 2024 season with the Salina Liberty, Kellogg led the AFL in sacks and earned All-Arena First Team honors after recording 11 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, and 2 forced fumbles in just nine games. Kellogg has also gained experience in AF1, the revived AFL, and the Fan Controlled Football League. He has additionally participated in CFL workouts and scouting opportunities.
Wide receiver Zane Lewis joins the Wranglers after spending the 2025 season with the Green Bay Blizzard. Lewis is a speedy and dynamic offensive weapon who scored three touchdowns during his rookie campaign. Northern Arizona is excited to add another explosive playmaker to the offense.
The Wranglers also added linebacker Carl Ware, who played collegiately at Wayne State University. In his final collegiate season, Ware recorded 69 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery. He finished first in his conference in forced fumbles.
Each player is expected to officially appear on the active roster later this evening.
