The Wranglers are ecstatic to return home against a tough Panthers team. This matchup is supported by APS, and the theme of the game is Teacher Appreciation! The Wranglers organization provided 1,200 free tickets to teachers in our local community with the help of businesses and individuals that sponsored a teacher to attend.
Â
Last Sunday, the Wranglers lost for the first time since their week one season opener. The Wranglers suffered a tough loss to the San Diego Strike Force by a score of 54-45, and they return home on a short week. The Wranglers won four consecutive games prior to this loss in San Diego, Calif., and they look to get back in the win column this Saturday evening. The Wranglers currently hold a 4-2 record on the season. The Wranglers are up for the challenge of taking on one of the top teams in the Indoor Football League's Western Conference. Last week, the Panthers suffered their first loss of the season after a 5-0 start to the season. The Panthers lost to the Vegas Knight Hawks by a score of 62-43. The Panthers and Wranglers will both be battling hard to get back on the winning track, and an intense game is expected.
Â
The Wranglers offense has been averaging 45.5 points per game, which ranks the sixth highest in the IFL. Northern Arizona's defense also ranks sixth in the league, when it comes points allowed on a per game basis. The Wranglers defense has also forced the most fumbles in the league. On the contrary, the Panthers defense holds opposing offenses to the fourth least total points allowed on a per game basis.
Â
Bay Area is led by head coach Rob Keefe, who was the defensive coordinator for Northern Arizona during their 2022 National Championship run. The Panthers also have a few familiar players faces on their roster from that 2022 Wranglers team. The Panthers and Wranglers will meet for the first time this season with a game that holds early playoff implications for the IFL's Western Conference. The Wranglers are three-point underdogs at home and are ready for the challenge against the Panthers. The Wranglers will need a complete performance in all three phases of the game to get the victory.
