The Wranglers are ecstatic to return home for a matchup with the Sugar Skulls. This game is presented by Ocean Blue Express Carwash, and the theme of the game is a Hawaiian Luau! This is the third and final regular season meeting between Northern Arizona and Tucson. The Wranglers have gotten the victory in both previous meetings between the two squads in 2024. A three-game sweep in the Indoor Football League is hard to come by, and the Sugar Skulls will be fired up and battling for a win in enemy territory. The Wranglers enter this Western Conference battle holding a 5-3 record on the year, while the Sugar Skulls are currently 2-5.
 
Last Saturday, the Sugar Skulls pulled off an impressive upset at home against the 7-0 Vegas Knight Hawks. Tucson handed Vegas their first loss of the 2024 season, despite winning just a single game prior. This game was an intense battle that went to overtime. Both the Wranglers and Sugar Skulls won their game last weekend with a one-point margin of victory. The Wranglers got a thrilling win on the road against the Massachusetts Pirates. A Western Conference meeting between two in-state rivals should make for an intense battle. Each Wranglers win against the Sugar Skulls this season was decided by one possession.
 
The Wranglers offense has been averaging 232.3 yards per game, which ranks the fifth highest in the IFL. Northern Arizona's defense ranks fourth in the league when it comes to points allowed on a per game basis. The Wranglers defense has also forced the most fumbles in the league. The Wranglers will be led by starting quarterback Joshua Jones, and the Sugar Skulls will be led by quarterback Mylik Mitchell. Jones ranks third in the league in both passing yards and touchdowns. Mitchell ranks 12^th in both categories respectively, but has played in two less games than Jones. Mitchell has been a consistent dual threat with his legs as well.
 
The Wranglers are favored by eight-and-a-half points at home against the Sugar Skulls. The Wranglers will need to continue to play their game in all three phases to get a win against a hungry Sugar Skulls team.
