The Wranglers need a road victory to keep their winning record alive midway through the 2024 season. The Wranglers currently hold a 4-3 record, while the Pirates are 5-2 on the year. Last Saturday, the Wranglers lost a hard-fought game at home against the Bay Area Panthers, while the Pirates lost a close contest to the Iowa Barnstormers. The Wranglers will need to get back on track with a complete performance in all three phases of the game. With both teams coming off a loss, an intense game will be expected with both teams pushing for a win and to keep their playoff positioning. Each team is slated to be in the Indoor Football League playoffs as of right now, but compete in separate conferences.
 
The Wranglers offense has been averaging 44.1 points per game, which ranks the seventh highest in the IFL. On the contrary, the Pirates defense holds opposing offenses to the second least total points allowed on a per game basis. Northern Arizona's defense ranks sixth in the league, when it comes points allowed on a per game basis. The Wranglers defense has also forced the most fumbles in the league.
 
The Wranglers will be led by starting quarterback Joshua Jones, and the Pirates will be led by veteran quarterback Alejandro Bennifield. Jones ranks third in the league in both passing yards and touchdowns. The Wranglers biggest challenge will be facing a tough Pirates defense and Northern Arizona will be looking to score on every offensive possession. The Wranglers struggled to score touchdowns on several drives last weekend. This game is the only matchup that the Wranglers have with an Eastern Conference opponent. Northern Arizona heads on the road as a six-point underdog and need a win to stay above a .500 record. This is game number eight for the Wranglers, marking the halfway point in the IFL regular season. Every game from this point forward will loom large in the league's playoff positioning.
