NORTHERN ARIZONA WRANGLERS SIGN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN DELVIN SALTER

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. — The Northern Arizona Wranglers have added a new offensive lineman to the roster, ahead the 2024 regular season, in Delvin Salter.

Salter joins the Wranglers for his first season in the Indoor Football League. Salter last played football in 2022 at The University of West Alabama, which is in Livingston, Ala. Salter was a staple for the Tigers offensive line, starting during his junior and senior seasons. Salter has shown incredible perseverance and dedication on his path that led him to sign with the Wranglers. Salter played eight games at Copiah-Lincoln Community College before receiving a scholarship to play football at West Alabama. Regarding his dedication, Salter stated, "My faith in God got me to this point in my career, God gave me the skills to play football and the ability to play at this stage."

Salter is originally from Memphis, Tenn., where he attended Whitehaven High School. Salter was the runner up for the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football award given to one player his high school division. Salter was inspired to play football by his grandmother when he was just six years old. Salter recalls moving in to live with his grandmother at that time and stated that she is a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan who loved the game. When Salter's grandmother encouraged him to play football, he went for it and never looked back. Salter explained further by stating, "After my first season as a kid, I really didn't think I was even good at football. My grandma would take me out to the yard and teach me the skills of the game."

When asked what has inspired him to continue playing football, Salter stated, "I believe that god truly put me on this earth to play football, I want to show what I can do as a player and let everyone know that he did this for me." Salter expanded on this when he said, "I was to be someone to look up to for my younger sister and cousins, to be an example of a successful man to them." Salter also credits his mom as an inspiration for him to continue playing football. Salter explained by stating, "My mom's hard work has really encouraged me to work hard at what I do also."

When asked about what he is looking forward to about joining the Wranglers, Salter stated, "I am excited to play football and really showcase my athleticism and skills, I feel like I have developed a deep bag of techniques as an offensive lineman." Salter is also excited to meet his new teammates in Northern Arizona and get to work. Regarding the opportunity to come to Arizona and travel, Salter stated, "I have never been to Arizona, I am excited to see the wildlife and environment of the state, and I am thankful for the opportunity to travel because of football."

What should Wranglers fans expect to see from Salter on the field? Salter said, "When I am out there, I am passionate. Football is a gladiator sport and I play it like a gladiator." Salter added to this by stating, "I want to win games as a team, and set the tone as a player. I want to play hard and make the crowd react, I want to be a part of the reason that a 15-year-old kid in Prescott Valley is excited to go to a Wranglers game on a Saturday."
