NORTHERN ARIZONA WRANGLERS VS BAY AREA PANTHERS GAME PREVIEW (4.23.23)

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. — The Northern Arizona Wranglers head on the road, for the first time this season, to take on the Bay Area Panthers.

The Wranglers enter this matchup coming off two straight victories, and a 2-1 record on the young season. On the contrary, the Panthers won their first game of the season and lost their last two, holding a 1-2 record for 2023. The Wranglers enter enemy territory, in San Jose, Calif., on Sunday, and will see many familiar faces from their Indoor Football League National Championship winning season less than a year ago. Kickoff for this Western Conference battle will be at 5:05 P.M. (Arizona time.)

Current Panthers defensive coordinator Rob Keefe led the Wranglers defense last season. Many players on the 2022 Wranglers defensive unit also followed Keefe to play in the Bay Area this season. Both teams will surely be fired up, and pushing for a win.

Bay Area dropped their last game to a very tough Tucson Sugar Skulls squad, only losing by four points. The Panthers offense will be led by quarterback Dalton Sneed, and a talented defense surrounded with former Wranglers players. The Panthers are looking to bounce back, and the Wranglers want to keep the wins rolling. This week's matchup will not lack either talent or intensity from both teams, and should be a great game.

The Wranglers will be aiming for their third consecutive win and have looked much improved on both sides of the ball since Game One. Wranglers quarterback Garrett Kettle has found his stride, and his looked increasingly comfortable with each time he has stepped on the field. The Wranglers are looking to continue their momentum from their most convincing victory in franchise history, winning by the highest margin of victory in three seasons: 39 points. Northern Arizona also held the opposing offense last week to a franchise record in points allowed with just nine.
