NORTHERN ARIZONA WRANGLERS @ BAY AREA PANTHERS GAME PREVIEW (5/1)

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona Wranglers are seeking a bounce back victory over the Bay Area Panthers, after a tough 72-62 loss, in Tucson, Ariz., to the Sugar Skulls.

On Sunday evening, the Wranglers will face off against the Panthers, at the SAP Center, in San Jose, Calif., and will be aiming for a much-needed bounce back victory. The Wranglers are on the road for the second consecutive week, and are fired up for a chance to beat the Panthers for the second time this season. In their previous matchup, the Wranglers pulled off their first win of the season, defeating the Panthers by a score of 49-20, at Pinnacle Bank Field at the Findlay Toyota Center.

In the time between the Wranglers impressive win against the Panthers, and today, the Wranglers have won two games, and lost one. Their most recent loss came last week against the Tucson Sugar Skulls, in a 72-62 shootout. In that same span of time, the Panthers have lost four straight games. Head coach Les Moss and the Wranglers will be focused on bouncing back with a victory, and will not take any team on the schedule lightly. The Panthers will be hungry for the taste of victory that they have not had since their first game of the season under head coach Kurt Bryan.

To win their first road game of the season, the Wranglers will need to play a complete game in all three phases on Sunday. The Wranglers defense has often been the strong point of their performances this season, until just last week, when they surrendered 72 points to the Sugar Skulls (six of the Sugar Skulls 72 points were as a result of an interception returned for a touchdown).

Apart from that single Sugar Skulls touchdown from an interception return, the offense had their best game of the season, putting up a franchise record of 62 total points. Wide receiver Quentin Randolph scored seven touchdowns, and earned the IFL's Offensive Player of the Week Award. Quarterback Kaleb Barker was also impressive, as he threw for 226 yards and seven touchdowns.

Barker looks to keep the offense rolling, and the defensive unit will be hunting for a better performance, much like we have seen prior to the loss in Tucson.
